Friends of the Intermountain Libraries is a 501(c)3 non profit organization who's purpose is to support the Burney Library in Burney California. Established in 1989 as a response to the library financial crisis, the Burney FOIL group was instrumental in providing funding to re-open the Burney Library after the California State wide closures in 1987-1989.
Later in 2009, FOIL came up with a plan to have a new library built. Eleven years later, the dedication and hard work of our board of directors, members, and citizens who live in the Burney, McArthur and Fall River Community made the new Burney Library site a reality in 2020.
To this day, we continue to work providing funding for children programs, adult programs and Summer Reading as well as collection materials and free resources for the community to sustain the Burney Library.
